How to Get Health Insurance in Colorado

Health insurance is one of the best tools you can use to pay for health care. Follow the steps below the video to learn about how to get health insurance.

Step 1Do you have health insurance through a job?

Yes: You can sign up at work during the open enrollment time or if something big happens (like getting married or having a baby).

No: Go to step 2.

Step 2​: Can you get Medicaid or CHP+?

Yes: Great. Apply through Colorado PEAK or with a certified guide.

No: Go to step 3.

Step 3:​ Explore coverage through Connect for Health Colorado.​

This is where you can shop for health insurance plans if you don’t get insurance from a job or Medicaid.

How to Get Discounted Care Near You

Discounted care, sometimes called sliding fee care, is health care offered at a reduced cost based on how much money your family makes. To find out if an organization offers discounted care and if you qualify... ASK!
